One-Way Mosta: Residents Wake Up To New Maze-Like Town

Mosta’s been at the centre of controversy for months now, but the town’s latest reversal has left residents stuck, sometimes quite literally.

“Can someone explain the chaos in Mosta this morning?” one resident asked, sharing a number of images of freshly-installed One Way Signs.

“Five one ways in one day, how can it be? You need to spend thirty minutes driving in circles so that maybe you finally figure it out,” he continued.

And many others quickly pointed out that they fully agreed.

“How can we get out of Mosta? Is Triq Il-Kbira still closed? Is the pjazza still closed? Is Triq San Gwann still one way? How does one go to Attard or Naxxar without having to take a huge detour and getting stuck in lots of traffic?” asked another resident.

“So many questions, yet no answers,” was the response she got.

This comes as the town’s main roads, such as Triq il-Kbira, are closed off once again due to faulty stormwater gratings.

One person pointed out that the Local Council had in fact advised residents of the upcoming changes on their social media, but people still believed the message that such major changes were going to occur needed to be better communicated.

This is the latest in changes to the town as Mosta’s undergoes a major pedestrianisation project that is completely changing the town’s main square.
