‘Oriana Was An Angel’: Tributes Pour In For Victim Of Horrific Gozo Quad Bike Accident
Tributes are pouring in for Oriana Bertolino, a 31-year-old Italian woman, professional volleyball player, and animal therapist who died tragically on Saturday evening in Gozo.
Bertolino died while on the back of a quad bike being driven by a 47-year-old Italian man. The man lost control of the vehicle and managed to jump off, sustaining minor injuries, moments before it crashed into a cliff edge in Wied il-Mielaħ, Għarb. Bertolino fell into the sea, her body was recovered but she succumbed to her injuries.
Soon after the tragedy, tributes began pouring in to celebrate the “beautiful soul” of Bertolino. The young woman was loved by many, with dozens of family and friends who described her as an “angel”.
“Your grit, your light, your intelligence were and will remain, unmatched, may the earth rest lightly on you, darling,” one person said.
“You were a wonderful person who gave so much to all of us. You will continue to shine in our memories with the same light you illuminated your friends, family and all those who knew you, both in the Pet Therapy and Sport worlds, where you excelled.”
“Dear Ori, you were such a good person, you loved the whole world… and you will surely continue to do so from above.”
