Owner Of Pama And Pavi Makes Generous €7 Million Donation To Local Charities
One of Malta’s most distinguished businessmen has donated €7 million worth of shares to several local foundations and charities.
Paul Gauci is the majority shareholder in PG Group which operates both Pama and Pavi along with retail giants Zara. In keeping with the companies corporate social responsibility programme ‘Caring for our Community’, the Maltese entrepreneur made a generous donation of €7 million worth of shares to a number of local charities.
The Malta Trust Foundation, Puttinu Cars, Dar Bjorn, Ursuline Homes and Fondazzjoni Sebħ are the recipients of this generous donation that came in the forms of Mr Gauci’s own personal shares in the PC Group. As a result, they will also collect two dividends per year.
“The main purpose of our community programme is to recognise our responsibility to help strengthen the communities we serve, support them and recognise their efforts and contribution towards our community,” Gauci said.
The entrepreneur made the donations at an event that also involved former President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, head of the Malta Trust Foundation, along with members of the aforementioned charities.
“As a principle, The Malta Trust Foundation relies on turning effective collaboration between NGOs, Civil Society and the Business Sector into tangible social projects. The Malta Trust Foundation also seeks to socially and sustainably invest, in all of its social endeavours,” said the former President in a Facebook post.
“In this context, I would like to commend the strong sense of Corporate Social Responsibility which Mr Paul Gauci and his wife are showing.”
