Paceville Stabbing Victim Named As Renowned Violent Criminal Joseff Rivas
The man who was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Paceville yesterday has been identified as Joseff Rivas, a British national with a history of violent crime.
Reports in 2016 by The Daily Star and telegrafonline.ro state that Rivas moved from the UK to Romania in 2008 after meeting a girl from Constanța County, and getting a job as a bouncer.
However, he was arrested later that year after getting into a fight with another bouncer.
According to telegrafonline.ro, Rivas kicked the bouncer in the head area, causing him to slip into a state of unconsciousness and require emergency surgery. The other bouncer was reportedly injured for life and he died two years later.
Rivas was convicted to three years in prison and was released in 2015.
However, a year later, he was accused of staging a violent robbery in the Romanian town of Năvodari, forcing the owner of a villa to give him and other robbers some €100,000 that he had stored in a safe.
Rivas was stabbed to death during an argument in Triq Ross, Paceville yesterday afternoon. Three Romanian nationals have been arrested in connection with the murder.
