Paola Councillor Proposes Massive Fundraiser To Pay Off PN’s Debt

Paola minority leader Roderick Caruana has urged the PN to organise the “largest fundraiser in Maltese political history” so that the PN can pay off its debt once and for all.
“Let’s be clear – you cannot lead if you’re drowning, and you cannot ask people to trust you if your party is waiting for others to save it,” Caruana said.
“So let’s start ourselves. Change starts when we change the way we think, when we don’t shy away from large problems but break them up into small parts to make solutions manageable.”
The PN’s financial problems have long been documented, and outgoing leader Bernard Grech confirmed in 2022 that the party is €32 million in debt.
Caruana said that the PN could become a political force to be reckoned with if it manages to pay off its debt.
“There is no shortage of ‘Facebook professors’ – those who respond to everything but never offer solutions,” he warned. “Criticism is always easy, especially behind a screen.”
“Meanwhile, our political adversaries in the PL know well that the next election will be a completely different story if the PN manages to pay off its debt and reunite with the people.”
“Some people were afraid of my proposal because they know that if goodwill becomes unity and unity becomes a movement, the PN can regain public trust and implement true change.”
“This is a party of believers, of people who never lose heart, of people who offer solutions, and people who want a better Malta.”
