A man is fighting for his life after being involved in traffic accident this morning.

At around 8.30am, police were called in to assist after the incident in Triq Għajn Dwieli, Paola.

Preliminary investigations showed that an 87-year-old Paola resident had been truck by a Honda motorcycle being driven by a 54-year-old Isla resident. 

The victim was given first aid on the scene from a medical team before being rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was certified to have serious injuries.

Magistrate Elaine Mercieca has opened an inquiry while police investigations continue.
