Paulina Dembska Memorial Plaque Vandalised In Sliema Gardens

The Maltese community has been left shocked after a temporary memorial plaque honouring the late Paulina Dembska was vandalised.
The memorial, placed at the Sliema Promenade near Independence Gardens, showed a photo of the young Polish woman who was murdered last year – and her image had its eyes scratched, leaving a new wound in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Agnieszka Gramala, a passionate activist, took to social media to share a post expressing her disappointment.
She also call for help in creating a newer, more permanent memorial to honour Dembska. She wrote: “It was her beloved place and it’s important to us that some small part of her always looks at this view”.
Gramala’s appeal for help in creating a new memorial is a rallying cry for the community to come together and show their love and support for Dembska’s friends and family
