‘PC Clive And PC Aiden Deserve Public Recognition For Their Courage’ – PN MP Darren Carabott
In the wake of last night’s shocking assault of two policemen in Ħamrun, Shadow Home Affairs Minister Darren Carabott has urged the nation to publicly recognise the courage displayed by the two officers.
Carabott said the officers, who he named as PC Clive and PC Aiden, should also be given all the necessary support.
“I hope that the two involved police officers – PC Clive and PC Aiden – are given all the necessary support,” he said.
“I believe they deserve public recognition for their courage, because despite being few in numbers, they didn’t hesitate to take action and put themselves in danger.”

He went on to call for more investment in the police’s human resources in light of Malta’s growing population and for police stations that have been wholly or partially shut down to reopen.
“The Police Force deserves much better. Today, more than ever, we need to say thank you to all the officers and their families,” he said.
The fight broke out after two police officers issued a fine for a car that had been illegally parked in Ħamrun. A number of people rushed out of an establishment, started arguing with the officers and ignored their orders to maintain public orders. Instead, they attacked the officers and threw them to the ground, forcing the officers to use pepper spray and tasers and call for backup.
Four men and one woman, all Maltese nationals, have been arrested.
