Ceiling Of Rabat Church Collapses Onto Altar
Early this morning the Facebook page for ‘Knisja Santa Marija Ta Gesu‘ (better known as ‘Ta Giezu’) posted some shocking photos of the interior of their church. The images show the ceiling completely collapsed, with the falling debris completely crushing the altar.
“The damage done is significant, and because of this no one is allowed into the church” the post said.
“We just thank God it all happened at night”.
Many of the church’s patrons wrote in expressing their shock and horror at the images, but most were also relieved no one was hurt. Still, it was difficult for some to find the words to describe what it was like seeing their childhood church crumble like that.
It isn’t know how much the damages will cost to repair, and the church will remain closed till the whole ceiling is fixed.
