Pete Buttigieg Has Released A ’50 Years Since Stonewall’ Pride Playlist And It’s Beautiful

Maltese-American Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg has just come out (excuse the pun) with a beautiful tribute to the 50th anniversary of the infamous Stonewall riots.  The predecessor to the modern day Pride Parades celebrated almost all around the world, Stonewall is usually a sombre day to look back on… but Buttigieg did not honour the day in a conventional manner.

The politician broke the mould of semi-sincere statements in press conferences and decided to curate a collection of 50 songs to commemorate the original riots… one for every year since Stonewall

The Spotify playlist beautifully titled 50 Years, 50 Anthems: Pride 2019 includes everything from empowerment anthems such as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera to LGBT+ icons such as I’m Coming Out and Born This Way… and even complete bangers like I Love It by Icona Pop and Charli XCX and Demi Lavato’s Sorry Not Sorry.

“Looks like Pete’s got as good a taste in music as he goes for legal rights,” local NGO MGRM acknowledged the awesome move

If you would like to listen to Mayor Pete’s playlist – which you should because it’s a-maz-ing – you can find all 50 songs here.

Tag a friend who will be jamming out to these LGBT+ anthems with you!
