PL Leading PN By 25,400 Votes And Imperium Europa Is Most Popular Alternative Party

A new survey carried out by leading statistician Vincent Marmara found that the Labour Party is set to win the upcoming MEP elections by 25,400 votes.
The survey, published in It-Torċa yesterday, shows that 50.4% of the public intend to vote for PL and 40.3% intend to vote for PN. Both parties registered slight declines since Marmara’s last survey (PL at 51.5% and PN at 43.3%), but PN’s drop in support was more pronounced.
While a 24,500-vote victory would be Labour’s smallest margin since taking power in 2013, it would still be an extremely significant majority. Even more concerning for PN, the projected gap has grown by 2,100 votes since Marmara’s last survey, not due to a rise in support for PN but a drop in support for PN.

It seems as though Norman Lowell’s Imperium Europa is the main benefactor of this drop in support in mainstream political parties, as his party registered 5.3%. All other parties and independent candidates combined registered 4.1%.
Prime Minister Robert Abela’s trust rating stands at 44.8%, up from 44.5% last April, while Opposition Leader Bernard Grech stands at 23.6%, up from 22.5% last April.
This survey, carried out among 1,000 people between 6th and 10th May, is the first indication of where the nation stands in light of the news that several high-profile people, including former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, are set to face charges in connection with the Vitals-Steward magisterial inquiry.
