Planning Authority Chief Johann Buttigieg Leaves Job After Six Years In Charge
Johann Buttigieg has stepped down as executive head of the Planning Authority after six years at the helm.
In a statement, the PA thanked Buttigieg for his “sterling work” since the authority’s inception and confirmed a transition period will now ensue.
Buttigieg was appointed head of the then Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) in 2013 and remained in charge of the Planning Authority following its demerger from its environmental arm in 2016.
Infrastructure and transport minister Ian Borg thanked Buttigieg for his work throughout the past six years.
“He was instrumental to the [demerger] reform of 2016 and to the PA’s contribution towards the development of Malta and its country,” he said.
Buttigieg will meanwhile move on to another post in an as-yet unspecified public entity.
