It is ‘no surprise that Britain is in such a mess’ if the findings of a UK fake news parliamentary committee was any indication of how its parliament operates, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has said, taking a swipe at the ever-worsening chaos brought about by Brexit.

The PM’s scathing remark comes after a British parliamentary committee has said it has confidential information that Joseph Muscat met up with data mining firm SCL before his election as Malta’s Prime Minister and that the Labour Party had dealings with the company for “several years” before the 2013 election.

Leaked emails published in The Times of Malta have also indicated as such.

“I am very disappointed that the select committee in the British Parliament ignored our formal submission,” Muscat explained.

He also raised doubts over the confidential information shown to the committee, adding that he has not been made aware of their contents, which he wishes to see.

“First they said I was introduced to Henley and Partners by SCL and now the other way round. Both are not true,” he stressed.
