‘PN Can’t Stand That I’m Back, They Know What It Means’: Neville Gafà

Neville Gafà claimed that the Nationalist Party “can’t stand that he’s back” after it was reported that he is volunteering to help Labour get out the vote in Gozo.
“Let’s be honest — the Nationalist Party can’t stand the fact that I’m back assisting Labour directly on the ground,” Gafà wrote on his blog.
“They know what it means. They’ve seen it before.”
“I have never — and will never — turn down the opportunity to help Labour. I’ve worked under different administrations, in good times and in storms, always with one goal: to keep Labour strong and close to the people.”
“And I do it without asking for a cent — not now, not ever. Because this isn’t about gain. It’s about belief.”
“The PN and their acolytes know that the experience I bring to the table isn’t theory — it’s tested, proven, and powerful. They know that with the right strategy, Labour can — and will — secure massive electoral victories, in Malta and in Gozo. And that terrifies them.”
Although the PL has three Gozitan ministers – Clint Camilleri, Jo Etienne Abela, Anton Refalo – surveys show that it is struggling in Gozo.
A recent MaltaToday survey shows that Gozo is one of only two regions where the PN is ahead, along with the Northern Harbour area.
The potential election of Alex Borg as the first ever Gozitan leader of a major political party could also prove to be a shot in the arm for the PN’s efforts on the ground in Gozo.
