PN Deputy Mayor Stirs Chaos At Labour HQ With Clayton Bartolo Graduation Protest
What appeared to be a regular celebration by MCAST graduates at the Labour Party’s headquarters turned into a chaotic scene today.
One of the graduates, PN Swieqi deputy mayor Jordan Galea Pace, came into possession of a poster mocking Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo and his wife Amanda Muscat Bartolo over her controversial €68,000 government consultancy job.
“€70,000 for Amanda’s legs, while MCAST lecturers and students are left with a banana,” the poster reads.
Galea Pace managed to take a selfie with PL head of communications Norma Saliba, who was oblivious about what was on the poster.
He said that when she found out what was on the poster, a security official tried to grab it from him and tore it in half. They asked the other students for his details, found out he was a PN deputy mayor, and called up a number of people, including at the Nationalist Party. Saliba also threatened him with legal action if the selfie were to be published.
“It was a friendly protest and I had every right to do what I did,” Galea Pace told Lovin Malta. “Clayton Bartolo took €70,000, while students and teachers were left with nothing.”
