PN Leader Adrian Delia Gets His Way Over Confidence Vote Question

PN leader Adrian Delia got his way last night regarding a question that could seal his fate.

On July 27th, the Nationalist Party’s General Council will vote on whether they want Delia to remain at the helm of the party until the next general election.

The vote was triggered by a petition calling for his removal, signed by some 200 General Council members, out of which 84 were deemed to be invalid. A counter petition, signed by some 530 General Council members and over 4,000 party members was later presented calling for Delia to stay.

During a meeting yesterday evening, the party’s executive committee agreed on the validity of both petitions and also unanimously agreed on the wording of the question to be asked at the confidence vote.

The question will read:  “Should the leader of the Party, Adrian Delia, remain leading the PN until the next election?”

This is different from the question originally proposed by the petitioners who wanted Delia ousted. Their question asked whether councillors wanted Delia to step down.
