PN MP Channels Michelle Muscat While Saying Robert Abela In Cahoots With Criminals
PN MP Mark Anthony Sammut has referred to Michelle Muscat’s famous diamond necklace review in an extremely strong criticism of the government over the Steward- Vitals saga.
Sammut lashed out at Robert Abela, warning that he isn’t a “normal Prime Minister” and that he is in “cahoots with criminals”.
This is his statement in full.
“After such a condemnation by the Court of Appeals, the least I was expecting was an unconditional apology, immediate resignations and clear action to bring the €400 million back.”
“Instead, we witnessed the most vicious and dirty attack I have ever seen from a Prime Minister. A senseless attack on the judiciary, where the PM insinuated that the judges are Nationalists and take the decisions they take because they’re scared of protests.”
“There is no room for these attacks in a normal country. Robert Abela isn’t a normal Prime Minister. This attack took place because Robert Abela’s government is a criminal organisation and Abela himself is in cahoots with criminals.”
“Criminals aren’t scared of the police commissioner and the Attorney General, because they know they’re in cahoots with them too, but they are scared of the courts and magistrates.”
“They know that the next step is the conclusion of a magisterial inquiry into this fraud, that will give us information into the “unknown reasons” behind why ‘those who had the duty to safeguard the national interest failed to do so and instead took care of Vitals and Steward’s interests’. And when that day comes, it will be shiny, it will be weighty, but it won’t be light my dear.”
That last line was of course a dig at Michelle Muscat’s famous review of the Seven Layer Necklace.
Earlier this year, Sammut handed evidence to the magisterial inquiry investigating the Vitals/Steward deal, which he said he received from an insider who knew what was happening.
He said the evidence indicates fraud, threats, false declarations, and collusion between politicians, top government officials and businessmen.
