PN MP Ryan Callus Is Ready To Give Up His Seat For Metsola

Nationalist MP Ryan Callus has announced that he is willing to give up his parliamentary seat if the newly elected PN leader is not already an MP.
Callus said it is clear that the person best positioned to bring about unity in the PN and who already enjoys broad electoral support might not be a current MP.
Although he didn’t say so outright, this is believed to be a reference to European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
“For this reason, and with a deep sense of responsibility, I declare my readiness to relinquish my seat in Parliament should she or he be elected as the next leader of our Party by our members,” Callus said.
“This will ensure a seamless and effective transition into Malta’s Parliament.”
“I have carefully considered the sentiments of my constituents and the pressing needs of both our party and our country.”
“This decision was not made lightly; it reflects my deep respect for the will of the people and a commitment to the best interests of our nation and our Party.”
“I firmly believe that new leadership can infuse the fresh energy and vision we need to build a brighter future together. I wholeheartedly pledge my loyalty and support to whoever our Party members choose to lead us forward.”
Callus concluded by saying he remains fully committed to serving his country and supporting the growth and success of the PN.
