The PN has opened up a legal challenge against the government over the overcharging of electricity and water rates.

“The only way you can get your money back is through a legal challenge,” PN leader Bernard Grech said.

An investigation found that ARMS, the company that manages utility bills, was calculating electricity bills in a manner that led to some people being overcharged.

​A leaked NAO report revealed that consumers could have paid “extra charges” amounting to €6.5 million. 

The PN will also be launching a website so people can register their overcharged utility bills.
