A 32-year-old man from the Ivory Coast, was arrested in Ħamrun earlier this morning on suspicion of spreading extremist material.

The arrest took place at around 5 am on Triq Giovanni Barbara following weeks of surveillance and intelligence analysis by various units within the Police Force.

During the operation, police surrounded two properties and seized a range of electronic devices, including servers, allegedly used in spreading extremist content.

The suspect has been taken to Police Headquarters for further questioning as investigations continue.
