Fifteen people have been found to be living in Malta without a permit and were arrested and transferred to detention centres before their deportation, according to a police statement today.

These individuals came from Bosnia, Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Serbia, and Georgia, to name a few, following inspections in Pembroke, Paceville, and San Ġiljan on Saturday morning.

Investigations did not only focus on residential areas but also on construction sites, an industry known to exploit undocumented workers.

These inspections are slated to intensify in the forthcoming days, indicating the country’s firm stance on immigration regulations.
