A woman has been sentenced to 14 months in prison and had her bail revoked after breaking a number of court-mandated conditions for previous crimes.

Charlene Gatt, 37, committed at least two additional crimes while out on bail, in breach of her bail conditions.

Gatt had been arrested on the eve of the Victory Day feast, 7th September, following an argument at an imqaret stall. She had been ordered to sign the bail book at the Żebbuġ police station on a regular basis following her arrest.

She is also accused of breaching her conditions in at least four different occasions.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech, found that Gatt had broke her conditions on at least three occasions, and ordered her suspended sentence come into effect.

Frendo Dimech also ordered the confiscation of Gatt’s €8,500 bail guarantee.
