After intensive investigations, police have managed to locate the vehicle involved in a hit and run in Birkirkara which left an e-scooter rider fighting for his life.

The incident occurred on 2nd July at around 11.45am today along Triq l-Imdina, Birkirkara. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after hitting the 41-year-old Finnish man.

The vehicle, a white Toyota Belta, was found by police, with dents on the side which fit into the nature of the incident.

Police have seized the vehicle, however, the driver is still yet to be found. 

Thankfully, the Finnish man recovered quickly and he has been released from Mater Dei Hospital.

A magisterial inquiry is ongoing.
