Police are currently searching for an armed robber who barged into a shop in Birkirkara last night.

The ordeal occurred at around 8pm in a shop located along Triq Ġuże Orlando, Birkirkara.

Following investigations, police found that a man, who was armed with a knife and had his face covered, barged into the shop demanding money from the cashier. The robber then fled the scene after stealing some cash.

The cashier, a 31-year-old man from Attard, was thankfully not injured.

Magistrate Gabriella Vella is leading an inquiry while investigations are still ongoing.
