Polls Close: 95% Turnout At Labour Party’s Internal Election
The Labour Party’s internal elections for key roles and executive branches has closed.
A voter turnout of 95% was confirmed by Brian Scicluna, Chairperson of the PL’s Electoral Commission.
Delegates cast their votes for the following key roles:
- Ian Borg for the role of Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs
- Alex Agius Saliba for the role of Deputy Leader for Party Affairs
- Norma Saliba vs Alex Sciberras for the position of Labour Party President
- Georvin Bugeja vs John Grech for the position of International Secretary
And for 12 members of the executive from a pool of 37 candidates.
The official results will be announced tomorrow by Prime Minister and party leader Robert Abela.
