Power Cuts Persist Throughout The Night All Over Malta As Anger Grows
Power cuts have continued to persist throughout the night all over Malta as anger continues to grow among residents.
Malta has officially hit the seventh day of power cuts – that means that certain households have not had electricity in seven days.
Naxxar, Mosta, Gudja, Rabat, Żurrieq, Ħamrun, Qrendi and San Ġwann were just few of the localities hit last night, as the ongoing heatwave peaks.
Many have also noticed how the power cuts seem to always begin around the same time; in the evening, after people have returned home from a day of work.
A resident from Rabat detailed how they entered their fifth night without electricity last night, confirming that the electrical supply goes out at the same time every day.
Temperatures as high as 32 degrees were reported throughout the night, as very hot wind and low humidity hits the Maltese islands.
Although Enemalta said that nearly all of Malta has had its electricity restored on Sunday evening, it seems new faults are surfacing.
It is unclear at which point this issue will be truly resolved.
