‘Pray For My Son Keith,’ Father Of Maltese 19-Year-Old In Coma Says Ahead Of Today’s Operation
The father of a Maltese teenager who unexpectedly fell into a coma has urged the public to keep his son in their prayers today as he undergoes another operation.
“Good morning my friends,” Omar Carabott, father of 19-year-old Keith Carabott, said today. “Today, Keith will undergo another operation. I pray to you to keep him in your prayers.”
“Keep fighting my fighter.”
Scores of people sent their support to the Carabott family during this difficult time.
Keith was studying BCOM at the University of Malta before falling into a coma after suffering a stroke while training football.
Since then, his friends have set up a fundraiser to help him and his family out, aptly named Kick It For Keith.
“I am a medical student and together with my brother and his friend Beppe we are planning a fundraiser 5-a-side football match for Keith Carabott, a 19-year-old who very unexpectedly ended up in a coma,” Michela Pulis told Lovin Malta.
“He now requires a van, wheelchair and other needs which are going to cost €30,000 and over, with the wheelchair and van being specifically designed for his condition,” she explained.
“His mother, father and brother Matthias have had to be at the hospital every day, so as expected the family’s income has decreased,” she said.
A charity football tournament, Kick it for Keith, is being held on 2nd September at De La Salle Football Grounds.
