The President of Malta George Vella and First Lady Miriam Vella departed this morning to the UK to attend the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey in London.

Vella will attend a number of events including one event for the heads of the Commonwealth hosted by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth at Marlborough House and another which will be held for invitees of the coronation at Buckingham Palace.

The Coronation will take place on 6th May at Westminster Abbey and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

While the president is away, Professor Frank Bezzina will be acting president until Vella’s return on 8th May.
