Anthony Spiteri Debono, husband of President Myriam Spiteri Debono, has died at the age of 75 following health complications.

A notary by profession, Spiteri Debono was widely respected in legal circles for his integrity and dedication to the public good. Although he kept a low profile during his wife’s political career, he remained a constant source of support behind the scenes and was frequently seen accompanying her at official functions following her appointment as Malta’s head of state.

The couple, who were married for over four decades, had three children together and were described by those close to them as deeply committed to both family and country.

The Office of the President requested that the family’s privacy be respected at this difficult time.
