‘Prime Minister Is Illegitimate’: PN Is Ready To Take Every Legal Measure To Safeguard Malta, Delia Says
The Nationalist Party is ready to turn to every legal measure to safeguard Malta, PN Leader Adrian Delia said in an appeal to the country to unite in calling for the immediate removal of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
“We have a Prime Minister who is illegitimate,” Delia said.
“We all have a duty and responsibility to put our politics and come together. We need to get this country out of this constitutional crisis. The Prime Minister is illegitimate,” Delia said.
In his address, Delia said that over the past few days, Muscat had proven he had gotten too powerful, acting as the only voice on the issue.
He said even Labour Party MPs and activists had begun to realise this and were coming to understanding about the need to combat the current crisis.
Delia appealed for everyone, regardless of their political allegiance to come together to defend democracy and fight corruption.
Turning to Muscat, Delia said it was time he forgot his personal interest and act in the best interests of the country.
“Get rid of those who are not letting you make the best decision for the country, but instead decisions that benefit the interests of the few,” he said.
Earlier today, Muscat said he would not be resigning any time soon, reiterating his government’s commitments to see through the entire legislature.
