Puttinu Cares raised a record €3,203,028 during its annual Good Friday telethon yesterday.

The final sum overtakes the previous record of €3,177,135 that was raised last year.

Puttinu is raising funds for the development of apartments near Russell Square in central London to house local child cancer patients who require specialised treatment.

Once fully developed, the property will house 29 additional apartment to the 20 Puttinu already runs in Sutton. It will be named in honour of the late Puttinu founder Dr Victor Calvagna.

This latest record-breaking sum of donations is once again testament to the ability of the people of Malta to unite in times of need.
