Puttinu Cares raised a record sum of €3,177,135 during yesterday’s Good Friday telethon.

The telethon kicked off at around 9:15am across all Maltese TV stations and ended at midnight. Several high-profile guests, including Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech, were in attendance.

The final sum was just high enough to beat the previous record of €3,133,430 that Puttinu Cares had set in 2022.

“You were part of Puttinu’s history,” the children’s cancer support group said afterwards.

Meanwhile, over 8,000 people attended Puttinu’s 20km Good Friday midnight walk from Mellieħa to Floriana, raising over €92,000.
