Qawra Needs More Police, PN’s Graziella Galea Urges As Families Leaving Church Find Bloody Scene

PN Spokesperson for Inclusion Graziella Galea has urged for a stronger police presence in Qawra after a bloody stabbing left families and local residents shocked.
“Out of respect for the victim, I am not showing a photo of the scene that took place near the Qawra church tonight. A scene seen by many, including children, as they were leaving the Church after Mass,” Galea, the former mayor of St Paul’s Bay, said.
Her comment comes after two men were left injured following a public fight that saw one man allegedly smash a bottle to stab another in broad daylight.
“The scene shown in the original photo is a shocking one. And that’s also why I decided not to post the original photo. But undoubtedly, as I have been insisting on, a stronger and continuous presence of the police in this locality is necessary.”
“Do more incidents need to happen for this to take place?!”

Social media has been flooded with reaction following the most recent public confrontation – but Galea, having previously led a town in the area, urged for residents’ pleas to be heard.
“As I have done several times, I appeal again to increase substantially police presence. One can easily see what is happening because these appeals, including those of the residents, are falling on deaf ears!”
Do you think more police in the area is a good idea?
