Qormi Business Owner Accused Of Forcing Ex-Partner To Use Sex Toys And Injuring Her

A 36-year-old man was charged with sexually harassing his ex-partner when he allegedly forced her to use sexual toys against her will and physically restrained her from leaving.
The Qormi business owner was further accused of causing the alleged victim slight injuries, indecently assaulting her and holding her against her will.
Prosecutors in court said the woman attempted to escape the apartment as he violently reacted to her refusal to perform those sexual acts – she began screaming and trying to leave but he allegedly grabbed her by the hair and stopped her from leaving the residence.
Meanwhile, the accused argued that he tried to make amends with his ex-partner of 18 months and sent her a photo of handcuffs and a whip that they had allegedly already used together. He then claimed that he proceeded to go to her apartment.
Lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri, representing the accused, asked for him to be released on bail since he has a clean criminal record.
However, the prosecution led by Audrey Micalled counter-argued that the alleged victim has yet to testify in the case and that there was a possibility of evidence being tampered with.
Magistrate Marseann Farrugia denied the request for bail.
Ishmael Psaila is appearing parte civile for the alleged victim.
