Qormi Mayor Deletes Letter From Santa Satirical Post Due To ‘Inappropriate’ Word

Article Featured Image

Qormi mayor Josef Masini Vento deleted a satirical letter from Santa he had posted due to an “inappropriate” word he used to make a political point.

Masini Vento’s post involved Santa advising a young girl not to heed her mother’s advice to work hard to reach her goals and to instead seek success by cozying up to a minister (“mur inħexa ma Ministru”).

This appeared to be a thinly-veiled criticism at the Amanda Muscat-Clayton Bartolo controversy, making the mayor one of the only active PL politicians to publicly criticise it.

However, Local Councils‘ Association President Mario Fava warned him that the language he used in his post was not fitting for his role as mayor. Masini Vento agreed and removed his post, telling us that the language he had used was “inappropriate”.
