‘Relax Bello’: Eve Borg Bonello Channels Love Island In Response To Joseph Muscat’s Latest Status

Are you still not quite convinced just how much Love Island Malta has become a part of our daily lives? Well, an MP just used one of the show’s most popular quotes while clapping back at a former prime minister.

PN MP Eve Borg Bonello channeled Love Island Malta in the cheekiest way possible in her reply to Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s latest status.

Just yesterday, Muscat posted a status threatening to take “all the necessary steps” to make sure justice is served after Vitals Magistrate Gabriella Vella refused to recuse herself from the case.

He even went as far as labelling the magistrate’s decision and the latest updates as “outrageous moves”.

That’s when, beyond the hundreds of comments – both positive and negative – was Borg Bonello, who calmly wrote: “Relax Bello, let the institutions work”.

What that triggered, as expected, was a wave of comments, both ones saying she had won the internet for the day, to others saying her meme-filled reply was actually “harassment”.

Contacted by Lovin Malta, Borg Bonello opted to not elaborate further on her comment, but stood by it.

Since his status, many other people in high positions have reacted, including MEP David Casa, who said that Muscat is starting to despair.

“Joseph Muscat is desperate. The attack he has just made on Facebook on the judiciary shows the desperation he has found himself in.”

“All this to lengthen the inevitable process: to face justice and get what he deserves.”

Repubblika President Robert Aquilina also similarly labeled Muscat’s latest public outburst as an attack against the instituations that are investigating him.

“I assure Muscat that we will continue to fight to eradicate his government’s corruption and for him to find himself in the Kordin prison,” Aquilina said.

What do you make of this latest response?
