After 18 hours of intense work, Transport Malta, Infrastructure Malta, and the Civil Protection Department have successfully cleared a trailer truck that overturned on Triq il-Kunsill tal-Ewropa yesterday.

The road, which leads to the airport, is now open to traffic, but authorities are urging drivers to proceed with caution as the area stabilises.

Yesterday’s incident saw a trailer truck toppling over and spilling diesel, leading to significant traffic disruptions on this crucial route to the airport.

Photos shared by Transport Malta showed the extent of the situation, with enforcement officers on-site closing one lane and advising drivers to seek alternative routes.

The road cleanup required a coordinated effort between IM and CPD, including roadworks and diesel removal to ensure the area was safe for commuters.

While the road is back in use, drivers are reminded to remain vigilant as they travel through the area.
