Former PN Deputy Leader Robert Arrigo has shared a €202,830 unpaid VAT bill of the party.

“This is the letter that I received from the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue due to unpaid VAT by PN during Bernard Grech’s tenure as Kap. From giving my all in each role, free of charge, unlike others, to getting this Christmas card!” Arrigo wrote on social media.

The bill, which he referenced in a speech to councillors on Saturday, dates back to 10th August 2021.

Arrigo was replaced by Alex Perici Calascione following the Deputy Leadership election which took place last weekend. Perici Calascione was the only candidate with Arrigo not contesting.

In an emotional exit speech, Arrigo opened up about the disappointment he faced over the years, insisting that he could not understand why he was regularly sidelined by the party.

He made it clear that he felt that the party had used him as a human fundraiser, noting that he was about to minimise the PN’s media arms haemorrhaging costs from €1.5 million down to €500,000.

PN leader Bernard Grech recently revealed that the party’s debt stands at a massive €32 million and has said he could not rule out potentially selling off party clubs and closing down Net, the PN’s media wing.
