Rose Vella, Mother Of Daphne Caruana Galizia, Passes Away

Rose Marie Vella, the mother of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia has passed away following a battle with illness.
Vella had testified that the brutal death of her daughter lead to a series of health problems. In December 2019, she suffered a stroke after Caruana Galizia’s death. The two events could be linked, doctors told her.
Despite the constant stress and turmoil after being thrust into the public eye, Vella never stopped fighting for justice for her daughter and the nation in the face of blatant corruption.
She joined her husband Michael at monthly vigils, held on the 16th of each month in memory of her slain daughter.
Vella regularly attended court sittings related to the case as well as the public inquiry.
She was the mother of four daughters: Daphne, Mandy, Corinne, and Helen.
Daphne was assassinated on 16th October 2017. Several people have been charged with the murder, but only one person has been sentenced to prison after pleading not guilty.
