Rosianne Cutajar Replaced By Katya De Giovanni As Social Affairs Chairperson
Former Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar was replaced yesterday by MP Katya De Giovanni as Social Affairs Committee Chair by a parliamentary motion brought forward yesterday by Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri.
Randolph Debattista will be also joining the Social Affairs Committee.
Marking the appointment, De Giovanni expressed her gratitude towards Prime Minister Robert Abela and the rest of the parliamentary group members for their support.
“I look forward to continuing working towards the good of the country,” De Giovanni expressed on social media this morning.
This follows Cutajar’s resignation from the Labour parliamentary group after former book council chair Mark Camilleri leaked her WhatsApp chats with suspected murderer Yorgen Fenech.
Cutajar will now continue to represent her constituents as an independent MP.
