Ryanair Announces Two New Routes From Malta For Summer 2025: Glasgow And Rzeszow

Passengers from Malta will now be able to travel to Glasgow and Rzeszow as part of Ryanair’s new growth plans for the island.

In addition to these two new summer 2025 routes, the company has announced increased frequencies on 18 existing routes like Barcelona, Milan, Stockholm and Zagreb, giving passengers even more choice.

A $100 million investment will further introduce a new Malta-based Boeing “Gamechanger” aircraft, seeing an increase of the islands fleet to eight B737 aircraft.

This growth plan is expected to grow Ryanair’s Malta traffic by 11% in 2025 to over 4.9 million pax, it further represents an investment of $800 million and supports over 4,200 local jobs including 30 new highly paid pilot and cabin crew jobs.

“As Malta’s no.1 airline, Ryanair is pleased to add an eigth B737 “Gamechanger” based aircraft in Malta, a $100 investment in Malta tourisms, generating over 30 new jobs,” Ryanair CEO Ryanair O’Leary said during a press conference this morning.

O’Leary reiterated Ryanair’s commitment to growth in Malta, not just during the summer season. He also stated that the company was able to grow air traffic by a third in its post-COVID recovery efforts. Meanwhile, Mark Duffy, Director of Internal Talent and Communication, explained Ryanair’s investment into the Maltese workforce, from engineers to cabin crew, the company is devoted to employing and growing its dedicated Maltese workforce.
