The Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) have stopped works in Gżira after footage of two workers dangerously balancing on a digger’s claws began circulating online.

The BCA and OHSA immediately took action with inspectors visiting the site located between Triq Ponsomby, Triq Cameron and Triq Taylor Coleridge, the authorities wrote in a statement.

Investigations began to identify who was responsible for the site and the authorities soon issued a notification to stop the works.

Further investigations are currently ongoing.

“BCA and OHSA remind the public that the best way to report is through direct contact with them by calling BCA on 80049000, 2095000 or 20955555 or by sending an email to info@bca .org.mt and to OHSA on phone numbers 21247677 or 99496786 (in case of emergency after working hours) or by sending an email to [email protected].”
