San Ġiljan Crowned Champions Of Waterpolo Championship 2022
The San Ġiljan Aquatic Sports Club have been crowned champions of the BOV Waterpolo Championship 2022, making them double winners!
Playing against Sliema in the second match of the finals, San Ġiljan beat the team 16-12, to then win the play-offs with 2-0.
In the first match, San Ġiljan were trailing 6-4 at the start of the fourth session but reversed the score to win 7-6.
San Giljan also were the winners of the Water Polo Premier League Knockout Competition in 2021, beating eternal rivals Neptunes 11-10.
San Ġiljan received the BOV Water Polo Premier League Trophy from BOV Chief Technology Officer Joe Agius and ASA President Joe Caruana Curran in the presence of the Hon. Clifton Grima, Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation in front of a jubilant San Giljan crowd.
