Santa Marija Medicane? Local Forecaster Weighs In On Potential Stormy Holiday

Stormy weather is set to hit the central Mediterranean region by mid-August – but one of the islands’ top forecasting pages isn’t convinced this means a Santa Marija medicane is heading our way

In a series of posts, Facebook page Aġġornament tat-Temp has been keeping its followers updated on the fresher and wetter weather heading our way – but in between the strong winds and the relatively long-term weather models involved, it’s not looking like a guaranteed stormy Santa Marija just yet.

No matter what 15th August ends up looking like, though, the month could very well be fresher than initially expected – and indeed fresher than last year.

In one update, the page showed what was happening in Ragusa, Sicily, maintaining that “indications” show a storm would not be hitting the Maltese islands over Santa Marija week.
