A slab of concrete with an electronic billboard has been placed in front of Żebbug, Gozo’s police station, prompting a politician’s concern about security on Malta’s sister island.

“You have to see it to believe it. Can we stoop to a lower level? Security is Gozo is not taken seriously on any level,” PN MP Alex Borg warned.

Borg noted a lack of human and financial resources that are straining the island’s police force, as well as a lack of political will to fix things.

“Above all, the priorities of this government appear in this photo,” he added.

“Advertisements, boasting, superficiality and gossip with no limits. But when it comes to what really makes a difference to people, to those who feel vulnerable and need help; there is a problem, there are many limits,” Borg said.
