Silvio Grixti Warns PL ‘A Machine That Destroys Labourites And Appeases Nationalists’

Former Labour MP Silvio Grixti has come out extremely strongly against the party he used to represent in Parliament.
Grixti, who is currently caught in the middle of a social benefit racket, drew comparisons between how his case is being handled by the authorities and the lack of action against PN MP Stephen Spiteri.
Spiteri was accused of issuing medical certifications to patients he hadn’t actually seen following a Lovin Malta report back in 2017. This prompted an investigation by the Medical Council, but Spiteri filed a constitutional challenge against them and won the case.

“My Labour brothers and sisters, we would do well to realise that we are second-class citizens who are treated worse than others and who are battered by our own people,” Grixti wrote today.
“If a Nationalist doctor is caught selling false social security certificates and has an offshore company, not only will the police not investigate him but the media will close their eyes and look the other way. No one took his laptop, no one took his mobile, no one investigated him and no one arrested him.”
“However, if you’re a Labourite, brace yourself for the consequences (ħoll xaghrek u ġib iż-żejt). The currently PL is nothing but a machine to destroy Labourites and appease Nationalists. Those who created this monster will end up getting consumed by it too.”

PN MP Stephen Spiteri
Grixti’s allusion to Spiteri’s “offshore company” is believed to be a reference to a Maltese company that the PN MP owned featuring in the ICIJ’s Paradise Papers. In fact, he has since updated his post to clarify he was also referring to companies named in an ‘offshore leaks’ database.
Earlier this month, Grixti personally called out Health Minister Chris Fearne.
“Why is that, in the recent past, when there were stories in the media about abuse of these certificates, the police didn’t investigate, as if it was all forgiven?” Grixti asked. “What do you think Chris Fearne??”
