Six Scammell trucks were set on fire in two separate localities early this morning.

TVM reported that the Civil Protection Department was informed at around 12:30am that two trucks were on fire in Triq Alessi, Mtarfa. CPD officials went on site to control the fire, but at 3am they received another call that four more Scammell trucks were on fire in Triq il-Mellieħa, Manikata.

Police reportedly suspect that the two incidents may be connected and that the trucks were set on fire intentionally. Magistrate Leonard Caruana has opened an inquiry.
