Software Attempting To Unlock Joseph Muscat’s Phone Trying 1,100 Password Combinations A Day

Software that has been deployed to unlock former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s phone is trying out around 1,100 password combinations a day.
As Muscat refused to provide his phone password to investigators in the Vitals case, court expert Keith Cutajar has been tasked with unlocking it.
Cutajar testified in court today as part of the case against Muscat and others, who have been hit with several charges in connection with the Vitals magisterial inquiry.
He said he had initially deployed the software during the inquiry but had to start from scratch after the phone was presented as evidence. He said the programme has been running for 23 days so far, attempting around 1,100 different password combinations a day.
Cutajar said it will take around 298 days to exhaust all possible password combinations.
