Somali Military Sentences Men Who Murdered Maltese Port Manager To Death, Reports Claim

A military court in Somalia has sentenced the men accused of murdering Maltese port manager Paul Anthony Formosa to death.

According to reports on Garoweonline, a Puntland Maritime Police Officer was charged with murder. Several others were sentenced to death in absentia.

One of the two attackers was shot and killed by security officers shortly after Formosa’s murder. 

On 4th February 2019, Formosa was reportedly shot several times in the head by gunmen disguised as fishermen, dying in hospital shortly afterwards. Notorious terrorist group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the killing.

Formosa was working for a Dubai government-owned port operator in the Puntland region, who the terrorist group said were occupying a Somali port.
