Someone Ransacked Malta’s Hunting Regulation Unit And Left Files All Over The Floor

The offices of Malta’s Wild Birds Regulation have been ransacked. Filing cabinets were opened and files were on the floor. However, it is at yet unclear what motivated the break-in.

At 8 am this morning, officials at the WBRU arrived at their offices in Santa Venera to find that it had been broken into. It is unknown whether one or more people were involved.

Police are currently investigating. The WBRU offices will be closed later today.

The theft comes during the autumn hunting season, with the government’s decision to allow the trapping of two birds but protecting the finch drawing criticism from both sides of the hunting debate.
